Kwik Trip, Inc. has an opportunity for an experienced Controls/Automations Integrator for our Bakery, Commissary and Dairy Facilities. This individual would be responsible for the installation, monitoring, maintenance, repair and/or design modification of high-tech distributed manufacturing and industrial process control systems for Kwik Trip, Inc.’s Production Operations.
Other Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections of control systems
• Provide hardware and software application support assistance to operations
• Utilize technical materials such as equipment manuals, MSDS, safety materials, system drawings, Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s), schematics and blue prints to trouble shoot and maintain systems
• Setup and configure replacement boards and assemblies to fit specific applications
• Specify, organize and maintain adequate spare parts and modules for control and instrumentation systems
• Tune control systems
• Perform system start-ups and operational checkouts on systems including configuration, wiring, calibration, grounding and power testing
• Assists in the development, implementation, repair, and maintenance of the site wide instrumentation, control and electrical systems
• Develop and maintain control R+M systems
• Develop thorough working knowledge of quality monitoring system architecture and provide single point of contact for trouble-shooting problems involving data generated between instrumentation and downstream quality data systems
• Participate in the development of project scopes, design of systems and functional specifications
• Participate in cross functional process improvement teams to drive plant performance through improved processes and system performance
• Participate in the creation and implementation of a training program for the maintenance engineers and operations employees around the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of integrated controls and information systems
• Develop integrations plan and maintain plant documentation in accordance with plan |

| Education, training, experience: |
Preferred education is a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with relevant work experience or at least two-year related experience and/or training. Candidates with strong hands on experience but no formal education and/or training will also be taken into consideration. Candidates should also have strong software development capabilities and system experience in: PLC programming, networking and I/O buses; Servo Motion Control programming; HMI; SCADA (Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition); programming in some/all of these tools: HTML, .NET, SQL, Database software, PLC programming. Knowledge of three-phase motors and power system component selection; competent with National Electrical Code; experience with Allen Bradley/Automation Direct PLC’s preferred; ability to work with mathematical concepts such probability and statistical inference; possess fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graph, etc.) in its most difficult phases; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations; ability to design complete production controls systems Architecture for production facilities; high level of confidentiality and professionalism; strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; exercise sound judgment within company guidelines; follow and enforce company policies; prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple tasks; possess a valid drivers license with excellent driving record; possess traits of Kwik Trip, Inc.’s Core Values: high level of Honesty & Integrity, show Respect, strive for Excellence, Humility, encourage Innovation and espouse a “roll up your sleeves” Work Ethic. Candidate must have a very strong food manufacturing process controls background and live or be willing to relocate within a 40 mile radius from the Corporate facility in La Crosse. Candidates with a strong knowledge of ladder logic/logic programming, AutoCAD proficiency and industrial/construction background are preferred.
Work Schedule: Typically Monday through Friday daytime hours, however, includes evenings and weekends as necessary. This person will also have some on call responsibilities. |
